About the Role
This role is all about building and nurturing strong foundations with key stakeholders to foster a win-win outcome.
Working closely with our National Accounts & Operations Teams, you will be the strategic lead providing direction for our team of business development managers, making informed decisions that will develop and improve retail sales. In order to do this, you will need to draw on your extensive knowledge of the sector and provide insight on the everchanging retail landscape.
You will have a proven ability to lead a diverse sales team to success, be tenacious and adaptable to ever changing priorities, and be an experienced leader who is open to trying new and different concepts to achieve sales objectives.
About you:
Are you an experienced Field Manager currently working in retail or FMCG markets? Eager to learn and grow with a dynamic, agile team? Passionate about delivering outstanding results.
You are customer and execution focused. You recognise that success in Independents demands trusted partnerships, internally and externally, paired with commercial acumen to navigate company, wholesaler, and retailer dynamics.

The key objective of this role is to lead the field team in this continually evolving business; managing all aspects of the field business, driving continual growth both within existing accounts and via new business acquisition.

- Drive promotions at Metcash that consumption and shipments
- Proactively use data from multiple sources to develop insights regarding business opportunities and potential risks.
- Challenge the status quo through positive disruption
- Territory mapping and planning
- Leading the customer relationship in SSO and Tier 3 MSO’s to drive long term profitable growth for TCCD
- Hybrid role - work from home and the office
Success Criteria
- To be successful, you will have directly relevant field management experience in, preferably 2+ years within the FMCG industry; experience with other complex customer channels from another industry would also be considered.
- Open to experienced Account Managers who are looking for a new unique opportunity.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering business plans and exposure to independents is preferable.
- The ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders both internally and externally combined with astute commercial business planning is a must.
