The Company
Our client is one of the longest standing engineering consultancies in the Toowoomba region who have developed a reputation for providing cost-effective engineering solutions across the Surat Basin, South Burnett, Wide Bay and Western Queensland.
Their offering includes in-house civil, structural, hydraulic, and mechanical engineering services to a wide range of clients such as corporations of various sizes, developers, and local councils.
The Role
As the Senior Structural Engineer your primary objective will be maintaining stability for the consultancy by assisting the incumbent transition out of the business while maintaining the quality and timeliness of the business’ engineering outputs. Furthermore, you will also be tasked with realizing the business’ growth potential through optimizing workflows and assisting with new business development where appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Producing and/or reviewing structural designs
- Allocating jobs
- Liaising with clients and external stakeholders
- Conducting site inspections
- Providing leadership to, and assisting in the development of, other engineers through guidance and instruction
You
In order to succeed in the role, you must be a tertiary qualified Engineer with a demonstrable track record of success in a similar role.
You will have the following:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural)
- RPEQ/CPEng – or evidence of progression towards achieving these accreditations
- Approximately 7 years Australian engineering consultancy experience
- Competency in any of the industry standard design software e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Microstran
- Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small cohesive team when required
