About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow
Salary: £44,100 - £66,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
This is a key role within the team responsible for the Group's consolidated management reporting to SSE's Board and Group Executive Committee. This high-profile role offers the holder excellent insight into the workings of a listed plc and requires liaison with Finance colleagues across SSE's businesses.
Main Responsibilities
- The preparation of monthly management accounts, group forecast and budgets, and other ad hoc reporting (including KPIs) in line with the Group financial calendar.
- Ensuring SSE's businesses apply a consistent approach to the internal reporting of financial information and compliance with applicable Group policies and procedures.
- Assisting in Transformation program initiatives including process simplification, report development, and system governance and controls.
- Leading on continuous improvement process reviews and supporting the production of the Group's consolidated financial statements.
- Working closely with senior colleagues including the CFO, Group Finance Director, and Director of Group Reporting, reporting to the Internal Reporting Manager.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant with 3+ years Post Qualified Experience in a Financial Reporting or External Audit role, ideally with plc or relevant industry experience.
- Experience of listed plc reporting and corporate governance requirements would be advantageous.
- Experience in governance and controls around Chart of Accounts management desirable.
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
