Job Description
We’re on the lookout for an established Senior Quantity Surveyor to come and join the WT team in our beautiful Hobart office.
With a secure pipeline of truly landmark projects already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity to come on board as the office continues upwards growth.
Supporting key projects in multiple sectors, such as stadiums, aviation, health and high-rise residential construction projects, this role will perform various quantity surveying functions whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.
This role is responsible for:
- Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
- Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
- Master-plan and feasibility budgets
- Cost checking of developing design
- Tender evaluations and analysis
- Cash flow projects
- Procurement
- Cost reporting
- Evaluation of variations
- Valuations
- Final account reporting
- Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims
- Investment analysis
- Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans
Qualifications
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia
- RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
- Proficient in the use of Cost X
- A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
- Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
