Reporting to the Head of Marketing AuNZSP, this role is a key member of the Visa marketing team - a high performing team responsible for our brand health and delivering best in class consumer, B2B, client and merchant marketing to drive business growth across Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific (AuNZSP).
Based in Melbourne with 1 direct report, the role is responsible for leading client marketing for several financial institutions. The key role responsibilities are client engagement, annual account planning, value added services (marketing services) business development and revenue delivery, seamless execution of marketing efforts and client satisfaction.
What a Senior Director, Client Marketing does at Visa
- Obsesses about each client, understands their business, challenges and develops strategies utilising Visa’s marketing expertise, to enable them to achieve their goals.
- Leads the planning of an annual account plan and marketing calendar for each client.
- Leads the collaboration with the Account Executives to ensure alignment and keep them informed on client marketing progress. Secures partnership incentive allocation for each account plan.
- Understands and interprets the client’s needs to identify opportunities for marketing services sales in each account. Leads the sales process including development of marketing services proposals, presentation to clients and closing sales.
- Delivers and ideally exceeds annual marketing services (value-added services) revenue targets for each client.
- Develops communications strategies and integrated marketing campaign plans for our client marketing projects.
- Responsible for financial processes and budget accuracy for the accounts. Keeps the marketing services pipeline updated and accurate. Partners with the Director, Marketing BPO ensuring operating expenses and revenue associated with client marketing projects meet monthly and quarterly forecasts and market P&L outlooks.
- Builds and fosters trusted advisor relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Develops and manages a structured engagement plan for each client ensuring connections between Visa and the clients is meaningful from the executive to the working group level. Identifies thought leadership topics that are relevant for each client.
- Oversees team member’s project management of marketing programs, problem solve and remove barriers to ensure we exceed client expectations with our marketing execution.
- Ensure the team work effectively with our agency partners to develop and execute high quality communications and campaigns that are on time and on budget.
- Monitors results and delivers optimization recommendations to increase the effectiveness of campaigns. Leads the post implementation report for each client project reporting on performance, learnings and actions.
- Fosters and develops a high performing team with high quality development plans, coaching and feedback.

What you will need
- 15 years marketing experience within a marketing team or agency.
- Formal qualifications in marketing mandatory.
- Demonstrated understanding of banking and financial services product marketing payments and portfolio marketing experience would be ideal.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Client focused mindset. Strong partnership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in sales and business development.
- Bias for action. Can mobilise yourself and others to execute on opportunities quickly.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
