We cover the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Halifax in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 6 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.
About the position
MMCNQ is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to provide comprehensive HR support for our team. This role includes advising on recruitment, compliance, policy implementation, performance and conduct, payroll, and employee data. You will also support HR service under a shared services model.
The position is on a fixed term basis working 36 hours per week commencing as soon as practicable until July 2025 and will be located at our Townsville office.
This position reports to the Senior Manager People and Safety and will deliver responsive and effective day-to-day HR business partnering support and solutions to our MMCNQ teams including our managers, leaders and staff.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- General HR support, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, staff lifecycle management
- Performance and conduct management, including disciplinary processes and probation
- Payroll integrity, HR systems, and employee data management
- Leading and participating in HR projects aligned with MMCNQ’s strategic plans
- Liaising with external agencies, vendors, and partners
- Supporting MMCNQ’s commitment to safeguarding children
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Degree qualified with specialties in HR (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience in a medium-sized organisation
- Experience in educational or children’s services is a plus
- Proficiency in HR and payroll systems (Aurion), Microsoft Office, and Google Workspaces
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), Criminal History Check, and valid driver’s licence (Mandatory)
