About the role:
Wellness Here for Life utilises the clinical capabilities and experience of nurses nationwide to provide affordable, convenient healthcare. We are looking for full-time and part-time AHPRA registered Nurse Practitioners in Northern QLD areas i.e. Townsville, Proserpine, Cairns to provide advanced nursing assessment, diagnosis, care and intervention to patients and their carers.
This is a 38 hour a week position, 9am-5pm or part-time minimum 3 days a week Monday to Friday, no shift work and will involve a combination of telehealth and clinical work. Excellent opportunity for Nurse Practitioners seeking work-life balance and a structured work week, or those who own a private practice and are looking to secure a consistent stream of patients.
Reporting to the Collaborating Medical Practitioner, the NP will liaise with a number of internal and external stakeholders including a Clinical Governance Committee, Territory and Sales Managers, Senior Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacy/ Facility/ Hospital staff, GP’s and other allied health professionals.
Role & Responsibilities: - Conducting thorough patient assessments and diagnoses
- Prescribing medications as needed
- Ordering and interpreting pathology and radiological tests
- Providing telehealth consults to patients
- Referring patients to appropriate health professionals
- Managing patient care upon referral from other health professionals
- Prescribing and administering approved formulary medications
- Participating in peer and case review procedures as guided by the Professional Services Operations Manager, Senior Nurse Practitioner, or Collaborating Medical Practitioner
- Contributing to clinic workforce development programs
- Follow clinic procedures and policies
- Understand clinic equipment usage per manufacturer instructions
- Ensure patient information security at all times
- Apply "Quality Use of Medicines" for patient well-being
Skills & Experience: - Compliance with relevant Federal/State legislation, DoH and Clinic policies, and local procedures related to the delivery of health services and the prescribing of scheduled medicines
- Hold current Immunisation Certification as per your relevant State/Territory requirements
- Current AHPRA registration and Registered Nurse endorsement
- Maintain eligibility to participate under Medicare
- Complete CPR and Anaphylaxis training annually
