About the role:
We have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our team. In this position, you will play a key role in leading workstreams for bid responses including contractual positions and cost modelling deliverables across our Defence and Infrastructure Services sector. The successful candidate will take a proactive and collaborative approach to identifying specific risks and opportunities and contribute to the successful growth of our business. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity with flexible working spending time in the office and from home. Options to base out of Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane offices.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or associated relevant experience.
- Commercial experience in a relevant Industry.
- Experience with operate and maintain, facilities management services and defence tender responses would be an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of risk management and can assess key assumptions on rates and unit rates.
- Understanding of pre-contract commercial activities.
- Broad understanding of internal commercial process compliance requirements.
- Pro-active approach, self-motivated individual with a desire to be successful in work winning activities.
- Experience with contracts and comfortable dealing with understanding and analysis of relevant financial drivers.
- Enjoy working with internal stakeholders and bid team members as well as external customers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identify contract specific risks and opportunities including legal, environmental, operational, safety and other relevant aspects.
- Lead risk and opportunity review process for complex contracts, identify associated costs and implement mitigation strategies.
- Design innovative commercial models that optimise profit while providing value add/continuous improvement to clients.
- Lead tender negotiations and assist in contract awards.
- Oversee cost model build to ensure optimal position is reached for tender success.
