The Role
As a Technical Writer, you’ll be a key contributor to the Project Delivery Team based in Sydney. Your mission: produce compelling written material that resonates in the technology space. Your focus will primarily be on drafting sales proposals and creating technical documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to ensure products are user-friendly and well-documented.
- Craft Clear and Persuasive Sales Proposals
- Tailor technical details, benefits, and pricing to meet the needs of potential clients
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and analyse documentation requirements
- Review and evaluate documents based on feedback and product changes
- Work closely with the engineering team to create comprehensive and accurate documentation aligned with sales strategies
- Edit and proofread technical materials, including user manuals and training guides
- Absorb highly technical information and present it in an easily understandable manner
- Ensure consistency, compliance, and accuracy of documentation
- Organise and maintain documentation repositories
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Assist in developing and implementing documentation standards, processes, and guidelines
Skills and experience
- 2+ years copywriting experience in a Technology or Engineering-related field (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to create effective sales proposals
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in writing, English, Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Exceptional written skills and excellent communication abilities
- Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of documentation projects
