A great opportunity has become available for a Timekeeping Compliance Coordinator to join us and be responsible for compliance of AusNet’s timekeeping records. This role involves coordinating with the business to ensure timesheeting and rosters align with industrial instruments, including verifying and ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies and agreements. You will be naturally curious, with strong Excel skills, acting as a critical liaison for payroll between employees and management.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is a 12-month FTC and based in Southbank and is part of the Payroll team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Collect, review, and validate employee timesheets to ensure accuracy in time and allowances claimed in a proactive manner.
- Ensure all timekeeping submissions/requests comply with relevant industry awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies, particularly concerning overtime, allowances, and other pay-related claims.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding timesheet, leave, and roster enquiries.
- Resolve discrepancies, issues, or missing information in timesheets by liaising with employees, Line Managers, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs).
- Communicate changes to employees and managers clearly, timely, and respectfully.
- Stay informed about best practices and regulatory changes related to timesheeting practices and rostering.
- Assist the payroll team in other payroll-related or ad hoc requests.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Proven minimum of 3+ years’ experience with automated timekeeping systems such as Timesheeting, rostering, or payroll administration. Award interpretation role in a heavily regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian labour laws, Fair Work Act, and industry awards.
- Proficiency in payroll and or HRIS and reporting systems/software (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors, Spinifex, Kronos or similar) and rostering tools.
- Strong math and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex requirements, identify dependencies, and assess risk factors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, precision, and thoroughness in testing procedures and documentation.
- Strong Excel experience (intermediate minimum) and Microsoft products.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Experience in a same or similar industry (e.g. power, healthcare, construction).
