About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent position available, commencing on 1 December 2024.
The Livestock Directorate is seeking an early career Development Officer to join their team. In this role, you will support the Southern Beef Project, delivering benefits to the agri-food industry and beef industry sector. You will liaise with key industry stakeholders and contribute to the economic development and growth of the southern beef industry. You will lead and implement collaborative applied scientific research project work as required to accelerate the adoption of regionally relevant research, development, and innovation. This will also include the coordinated development and delivery of communications and extension material.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with departmental staff, industry, and the community.
- Previous knowledge of agri-food industry systems and an understanding of beef production systems and industry development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, undertaking research, development extension, and communications activities.
- Ability to deliver agreed outcomes and projects within specified timeframes.
