About the Role
As a Chef Manager you will work with a team of Catering assistants to lead a high functioning kitchen and catering service through the provision of quality, well presented, nutritious meals that meet Resident dining preferences and needs in a home like environment. Ensuring excellence always, whilst adhering to all related quality standards and regulations.

Duties
- Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for the residents of the care home.
- Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for.
- Ensure any specialist resident dietary requirements are met (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain).
- Prepare the main dishes for lunch and dinner.
- Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce.
- Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation.
- Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies.
- Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes.
- Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.
- Aged Care / Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred.
- Ideally you would have previous experience in a similar role.
- Effective time management, organisational skills and budget management.
- Previous experience in leading a team is desirable.
- Understanding of Food Audits.
- Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.
