Within the Supply Chain team at Tooheys, we are empowered to make a difference by delivering best-in-class manufacturing solutions. As part of this exciting venture, we are seeking an action-oriented and hands-on Production/Operations Manager (internally referred to as Area Leader – Can Line ) to join our packaging leadership team on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will lead 4 team leaders with indirect reports of 40 team members. You'll be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards and achieving production excellence on our busiest packaging line.
About the role:
- Coaching and Development: Mentor and coach your team, fostering skill development and high performance.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee production schedules, manage equipment maintenance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives to optimise processes and drive productivity gains.
- Performance Management: Monitor and manage the performance of team members, ensuring targets are consistently met.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open communication within the team and with other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
- Safety Focus: Drive a culture of safety, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to safety protocols.
About You:
- Change Management: Proven experience driving change and influencing people and teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Hands-on and Action-Oriented: You are a doer and will roll up your sleeves and lead from the front.
- Coaching and Accountability: Ability to coach for performance, ensuring accountability, and driving results through your team.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in FMCG manufacturing and/or engineering, with proficiency in lean principles/TPM.
- Resilience: Managerial courage and resilience to navigate and lead through challenges.
