The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for two Allied Health Lead Practitioners for CYMHS Youth Mental Health (529953) vacancies, one in the North, and one in the South of Tasmania.

We are seeking senior allied health professionals with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy within mental health or a relevant/related sector. You will be working within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment for young people and their families.
Our Aim:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Practitioners to provide clinical services to young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns.
The Lead Practitioner will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high-level clinical leadership to the team.
The role will include:
- Being part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high-quality mental health services to young people and their families/carers.
- Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
- Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Leading and working with a diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.
Two positions are available, one in the North and one in the South.
North
- Based in Launceston CBD.
- The North of the state is an area of natural beauty with easy access to the Cataract Gorge, waterfalls, bush walks, beautiful beaches, and excellent mountain biking tracks.
South
- Office based in Hobart City Centre.
- The Southern area of Tasmania is a beautiful area to live and raise children.
An attractive relocation package and support for international visa requirements may be available for successful applicants.
Two permanent full-time day worker positions working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $120,114 - $130,181 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
- Relocation assistance and visa support may be available for the right applicant.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
- Current Working with Children Registration.
Desirable criteria:
- A minimum of 3 years current postgraduate experience in child, adolescent and/or youth mental health or a relevant field.
- Training in relevant evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are developmentally appropriate such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
- Current Driver’s Licence.
