Job Title: Physical to Demat Operations Specialist
Job Overview:
The Physical to Demat Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the conversion of physical securities to their dematerialized forms. This role involves handling the dematerialization process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing excellent service to clients throughout the transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Dematerialization Process Management:
· Process requests for the conversion of physical securities into demat form.
· Verify and validate physical securities and associated documentation.
· Ensure accurate and timely submission of Dematerialization Request Forms (DRFs) to the Depository Participants (DPs).
Ø Client Interaction:
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with the dematerialization process.
· Provide guidance on documentation requirements and resolve client queries related to demat operations.
Ø Compliance and Documentation:
· Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies during the dematerialization process.
· Maintain and manage records of all demat transactions and related documentation.
Ø Coordination with Depositories:
· Liaise with depositories (NSDL, CDSL) and Depository Participants (DPs) to facilitate the smooth processing of demat requests.
Ø Coordinating with all the stake holders (Client, RTA, CS, Investor Relation dept. of Companies, Lawyer etc) for expediting the Dematerialization process of clients shares.
· Track the status of dematerialization requests and follow up as needed.
Ø Quality Control:
· Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of demat transactions.
· Address any discrepancies or issues that arise during the demat process.
Ø Reporting and Analysis:
· Prepare and maintain reports on demat operations and performance metrics.
· Analyze trends and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Ø Training and Support:
· Provide training and support to junior staff or team members involved in the demat process.
· Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to demat operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in securities operations, financial services, or a related role, with a focus on dematerialization processes.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in securities or financial operations (e.g., NISM certification) are a plus.
