The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Chandigarh University seeks a dynamic and experienced individual for a faculty position at the rank of Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the department’s academic mission through teaching, research, and service. This role involves developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate coursework, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the professional development of students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality instruction for undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics.
- Design and update curriculum to reflect current trends and advancements in the field.
- Supervise and mentor students in academic and professional development, including overseeing thesis and dissertation projects.
- Engage in innovative teaching methods and incorporate technology to enhance learning.
- Conduct and publish original research in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
- Seek external funding to support research activities and collaborate with other researchers within and outside the institution.
- Present research findings at academic conferences and seminars.
- Contribute to the advancement of the field through peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly activities.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and administrative duties.
- Engage with professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the field of nutrition and dietetics.
- Provide expertise and outreach to the community, including partnerships with local health organizations and public health initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in nutrition and dietetics through continued education and professional engagement.
- Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance teaching and research skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum Experience 12 Years Required .Demonstrated record of effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Proven track record of research and scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Certification: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) preferred but not always required.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of current trends, research, and best practices in nutrition and dietetics.
