We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic engineering team in the retail domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and a deep understanding of the retail industry. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive our engineering projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and create individual development plans.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality products.
- Manage project risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the retail domain.
- Drive continuous improvement in coding standards, development processes, and tools.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to define the technical strategy and roadmap for the retail platform.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and contribute to the overall product strategy.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of the retail systems.
Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, product owners, and customers, to understand requirements and provide project updates.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure engineering solutions meet customer expectations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong background in the retail domain, with a deep understanding of retail processes, e-commerce, and customer experience.
- Hands-on experience with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, React, Node.js).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
