Data Engineering Opportunity with RSA Insurance Group
The purpose of the Data Engineer is to build and unit test code for Projects and Programmes on Azure Cloud Data and Analytics Platform.
About the role
- Analyse business requirements and support\create design for requirements
- Build and deploy new/changes to technology applications developed on Azure Cloud Platform – key focus area would be Azure Data Bricks, Logic Apps & Azure Functions
- Develop performant code
- Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, support, and capacity estimation
- Conduct Unit testing of code changes to ensure quality deliverables
- Provide day-to-day support and mentoring to end users who are interacting with the data
- Profile and understand large amounts of source data available, including structured and semi-structured/web activity data
- Analyse defects and provide fixes
- Provide release notes for deployments
- Support Release activities
- Problem solving attitude
- Keep up to date with new skills - Develop technology skills in other areas of Platform
Who would be a right fit?
While we believe there can be no rigid definition of a suitable candidate, we feel some skills and experiences can be indicative of the right fit:
- 5-8 years of Data area experience
- 2+ years of Azure experience – Strong knowledge of Azure Data Bricks
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Strong knowledge of Azure Functions
- Experience with Logic Apps would be highly desirable
- Strong Analytical skills
- Azure DevOps knowledge
- Experience with Azure Data Factory would be a plus
