About the team:
The Marks Mumbai team is a multi-disciplinary group constructed to support and service some of North America and Europe’s biggest brands. This team lives and breathes packaging adaptation and production across a versatile collection of brands and categories – from food & beverages to household essentials and health. You’ll work alongside a team of graphic designers, project managers, proofreaders, quality-check specialists, and schedulers to bring packaging extensions, creative adaptations and updates to life.
This role is designated working from our studio in Mumbai.
About the Role:
This position calls for a Senior Designer who will play a leading role within our Packaging adaptation and production team, executing packaging creative adaption through to artwork at the highest level. You will support and enhance the adaptive design process with your ability to absorb brands and design intent, and creatively develop expanded concepts on their journey into accurate packaging master files. With a strong creative eye, you will support the team by ensuring the design you produce maintains creative integrity and cohesion, as you work across a diverse collection of brands and expanded portfolios.
As the Senior Designer you thrive in a professional, fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects. You will work with local and global Team Leads, Project Managers, Creative and Design Directors to support design technical excellence, so that all output is delivered in a timely manner to meet established deadlines.
On any given day you might:
- Act as a creative champion and brand guardian – with the ability to review layouts for design integrity and cohesion across portfolios and ensuring they follow guidelines
- Use your creative and technical talent to understand brands and their creative vision, and translate this insight to design new variant expressions, assets and formats that align with the original intent
- Liaise with partners in North America and Europe as work is shared between teams
- Provide guidance, consultation and feedback on technical file builds and standards
- Partner with Global counterparts to drive best practice and adherence to ways of working, across multiple streams of Packaging Adaption rollouts
- Work with Leadership to identify and implement process, tool and/or communication improvements that support the team’s progress
- Support and mentor the team with their learning and development
- Partner with experts in the Packaging Quality Assurance department to ensure accuracy in file builds
The ideal person:
- Is an expert in Consumer-packaged goods and packaging production
- Has the creative ability to design new adaptive concepts based on established brand visual language
- Possesses a high level of technical knowledge of packaging print processes, and demonstrates this in practical application in file creation and development
- Has great attention to detail, striving for accuracy in file building and content creation
- Brings a high level of Photoshop image composition and manipulation expertise
- Has a critical eye for branding, design, hierarchy, layout, typography, spacing, and color
- Has the creative talent to handle a brand and its assets with craft and protective diligence
- Is an experienced Senior Designer who embraces coaching and mentorship as part of their role
- Is a collaborative partner – working within their immediate and adjacent teams
- Has the ability to prioritize workload and proactively finding solutions as needed
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Has the ability to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment whilst being a steady hand at the wheel

You Bring
- Diploma/Degree in Graphic, Packaging Production Art (or related field) is preferred
- 10+ years working in a Design and/or Production role within the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
- A well-rounded portfolio showcasing your abilities to apply creative inputs and in building packaging art solutions
- A deep understanding of Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop,
- and InDesign), Microsoft Word, and Excel
