Job Purpose
The role of the Project manager is to govern and drive successful implementation of Operations Transformation Programs involving multiple projects. Key objectives of the RBG Transformation Programs are to Reduce Cost, and Drive Migration through Innovation. Key areas of focus will include Project managing all projects related to Retail Banking Operations projects under the Transformation umbrella. This role involves managing cultural change for embedding digitization. This role also involves working with key stakeholders i.e Technology, Product and Segment heads to prepare ground.
Key Result Areas
- Delivery of key project work stream initiatives based on agreed objectives and project success criteria for each work stream assigned
- Deliver Transformed branch in a ready state with all elements of physical design, technology and people including service standards
- Deliver in a timely manner on technology related projects inclusive of user story boards, UAT and implementation
- Gather both internal and external customer feedback in order to design, enhance and innovate
- Maintain project master plans for each work stream to track delivery of key milestones against timelines
- Monitor adoption rates for new developments and releases to both staff and customers
- Lead and work with cross function team on conducting business analysis, data analysis, diagnostic activities in order to innovate / design / complete enhancements
- Manage governance related activities effectively including planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting in order to report to the Project Steering Committee
- Ensure effective communication on Project deliveries by working with Manager Transformation and Channel / Segment and Product owner
- Use specialized knowledge and/or experience of business areas or products to ensure all relevant information is available to guide design and implementation of the project
- Guide and Support team members in ensuring that User journeys and design documents are fully conforming to the Key objectives of the organization and Project Steerco
- Guide and Support team members on UAT and Go live / Implementation in order to impact Cost, Sales and Migration goals
- Work closely with Operations and Technology on system and compliance related standards and adherence pertaining to Transformation
- Work with Operations Managers on resource and capacity planning
- Manage Transformation in preparation of annual project budgets and tracking the figures
- Closely monitor financial and non-financial migration performance
- Work with Operation Unit on user manuals and training materials to enable successful implementation of transformation initiatives
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships
- Member of the development/implementation team managing Ops projects and IT initiatives
- Interacts with project stakeholders from business, enabling units, 3rd party representatives, and senior management
- Work with team members participating in shadowing and training activities and ensuring continuity of deliverables
- Adhere to project management, information controls and security frameworks/procedures, including change and incident management process
- Provide general administrative support to the team, including, meetings, knowledge transfer and activity reporting
- Ensure management is informed of risks, issues, project/activity status, and team accomplishment
- Recognize team achievements and share success, promoting high performing teams
Problem Solving
- Work on Innovation projects to address customer and staff feedback mechanism
- Perform root cause analysis & tracking to closure of incidents on the team applications
- Recommend solutions to systems or process obstacles
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
- Ensure operational change, incident and problem management processes are performed
- Ensure project change requests are managed according to the project management methodology
- Negotiate with 3rd parties toward the best outcome for the project and organization (non-financial aspects)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Preferably holding Banking Operations Digital experience with project management skills
Ability to manage diverse teams drawing on different skills to enable strong team results
Business and technical experience in the financial and non financial services of banking
8-10 years of experience in project management on payments platforms
Strong organization and presentation capability
