Position Overview:
The Legal and Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's adherence to legal regulations, standards, and ethical practices. This multifaceted position involves overseeing legal matters, managing compliance initiatives, and providing expert guidance to facilitate effective decision-making. The Legal and Compliance Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to mitigate risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the company's reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Compliance:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure the organization's compliance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures that align with legal requirements.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of matters, such as contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes to assess their impact on the company's operations.
- Coordinate internal compliance audits and reviews to assess adherence to regulations.
- Develop strategies to address compliance gaps and mitigate associated risks.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks and develop proactive measures to address them.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to ensure the organization's preparedness for potential legal challenges.
- Training and Education:
- Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about legal and compliance matters.
- Foster a culture of compliance by promoting awareness and understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Contract Management:
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Ensure contracts align with legal requirements and company policies.
- Investigations and Dispute Resolution:
- Lead or support investigations into alleged violations of policies, regulations, or laws.
- Collaborate with relevant parties to resolve disputes and legal issues effectively.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to legal and compliance activities.
- Generate periodic reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies.
- Others:
- Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field; Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Legal Counsel or Compliance Officer in a corporate setting.
- In-depth knowledge of legal and compliance regulations and best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of integrity.
- Proficiency in using legal research databases and software.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Php70,000.00 - Php100,000.00 per month
