About the role
- Prioritising personal and direct-report workloads to optimise delivery of outcomes.
- High level advisory support for the delivery of an effective, integrated approach to maintaining workplace health & safety compliance in accordance with applicable legislative, certification, accreditation and internal governance requirements.
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of environment management system requirements.
- Delivering internal WHS training courses.
Key responsibilities include:
As a Business Partner, act as a trusted advisor to nominated operational leaders and support the management of operational risk by:
- Providing relevant, sound and timely HSE advice.
- Conducting workplace assessments, undertaking audits and participating in internal investigations.
- Analysing, validating and reporting of HSE statistical data to meet internal governance and statutory requirements.
- Participating in site meetings and planning activities which involve HSE and related matters including initiatives involving continuous improvement and sustainable solutions.
- Delivering internal WHS training courses and monitoring training needs and competencies (in conjunction with HSEQ Training Specialist).
- Monitoring of issues resolution and corrective action.
- Supporting the development, review and communication of HSE related policy, standards, procedures and associated documentation.
- Developing valued relationships with regulators and other interested parties to facilitate the maintenance of HSE certifications and Self Insurance accreditation (where applicable).
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to operational activities involving workplace health & safety related issues.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of broader HSE strategic initiatives and programs including sustainability projects.
- Providing initial advice for management of work injury claims and return to work processes (in conjunction with the National EH&PI Manager).
What you’ll bring:
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation.
- Understanding of environmental legislation.
- Demonstrable evidence in preparation and delivery of compliance reports to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated evidence in the assessment of risk and application of appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team orientated mindset.
