Base Salary HEO 7 $108,557- $118,267 p.a. (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation.
About the Opportunity
The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Gambling Psychologist to be part of the GambleAware team. The successful candidate will work within the guidelines of the operating policies of the GambleAware clinic and contribute to community engagement, outreach, clinical research, and service delivery evaluation.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct treatment for gambling related issues for gamblers and significant others impacted by gambling harm, using initiatives and developing educational, outreach, and clinical materials for other clinicians.
This role will require varying time between GambleAware locations in Penrith and Parramatta, as well as outreach sites around the Katoomba/Blue Mountains region as required by the Clinic Manager and Director.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and treatment for clients with gambling harm and relevant comorbidities, as specified by the Clinic Director.
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to optimise client care.
- Engage in community events to build links with key stakeholders and raise awareness of gambling harm.
- Foster open communication and collaboration within the team, addressing stakeholder queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the achievement of clinic and team outcomes by participating in projects and activities as specified by the Clinic Director.
About You

- Full and current registration in Australia as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrable understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy, and other relevant guidelines.
- Experience in the provision of CBT.
- Experience in the treatment and assessment in the area of gambling (desirable).
- Experience working with first nations clients and CALD communities (desirable).
- Experience in community engagement activities (desirable).
