Salary: Level B: $119,231 - $141,581 p.a. (pro rata for part time) plus 17% super and a clinical loading of $13,494 p.a. (pro rata for part time) for dentally qualified academics.
- Provide clinical supervision and teaching in Melbourne Dental School, guiding students in evidence-based dentistry.
- Play a vital role in guiding and supporting students through hands-on clinical learning and teaching activities.
About the Role
The Clinical Lecturer at the Melbourne Dental School plays a key role in supervising and teaching students in clinical practice subjects, supporting the development of skills in evidence-based dentistry. The role involves delivering lectures, tutorials, and contributing to curriculum development, while also engaging in clinical practice leadership and collaborating with colleagues on educational initiatives.
- Deliver tutorials and other learning and teaching duties, as required to meet operational needs.
- Contribute to high quality curriculum development, evaluation, and review.
- Contribute to the assessment process and provision of timely student feedback.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of current University Policy and Procedures, and reliably follow these or provide compliant advice to others.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse students and patients. They are highly motivated, capable of working both independently and collaboratively, and possess a commitment to ongoing professional development and teaching excellence in a clinical setting.
You will also have:
- A primary dental qualification registrable with the Dental Board of Australia and current AHPRA registration (no previous or current AHPRA conditions).
- A minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience a diversity of experience.
- Evidence of ongoing extra-mural clinical practice and continuing professional development.
- Highly motivated to develop skills consistent with teaching excellence.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
