About The Role
Are you an experienced environmental consultant looking to support clients in delivering a wide variety of onshore infrastructure and renewable energy projects? Do you have knowledge of writing environmental statements, EIA Reports, and other pivotal environmental consenting documents? Are you looking for a role with variety where each project offers different challenges?
We are actively searching for a Principal EIA Project Manager to join our growing team. Your work will involve infrastructure projects ranging from supporting utilities clients, developing greenways and active travel projects, and gaining consent for solar and wind farm projects across the UK. APEM is exceptionally well positioned to support projects that substantially contribute to net zero targets, and your role will help deliver fast-moving projects that provide tangible benefits to the environment.
You will also work collaboratively across our growing Group with the support of technical experts in EIA, HRA, LVIA, Terrestrial Ecology, Remote Sensing, Biodiversity Net Gain, and Natural Capital. There may be opportunities for secondments into other areas of the Group, such as Offshore Wind Major Projects and into clients’ teams, ensuring your skills are refreshed and that no day is ever the same!
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Technical and project management experience across a range of infrastructure and development sectors, with experience within the renewables industry (such as grid connection for OSW) as a consultant or with a developer.
- Experience of working within a variety of planning regimes, for example NSIP/DCO, TCPA, S36 (Scotland), and DNS (Wales).
- Extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing subcontractors (cost, time, quality).
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline and 5+ years of professional consultancy experience.
- Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) or Practitioner of IEMA (PIEMA); or other directly relevant professional membership; or meet the criteria to apply.
We match all of this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, including private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders, and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
