Role & responsibilities
1. BD Strategy
- Contribute to the API BD strategy on Global Accounts growth objectives
- Determine the strategies for the selected Global Accounts
- Build the wallet share of business for Biocon API business in APAC & Europe territories
2. Leading Sales and Account Management
- Assist the regional business head in day to day activities to ensure smooth functioning of the businesses and in the monthly order forecasting for production planning
- Grow the share of business, as well as expand the relationships within the customer identifying influencers, gatekeepers, decision makers within the region of APAC & Europe but also to direct and align with Global and Regional KAM's to further penetrate the client organization
- Deploy a strong consultative selling approach with assigned accounts to identify their supply chain challenges and develop value creating solutions
- Interact with regular customers to ensure continuity of existing businesses - from the time that orders are received to the time shipments are despatched as per customer requirement.
- Co-ordination with the planning / production and Export Logistics/Shipping team to ensure despatch as per customer time-lines, export shipping documentations are provided to the customer and ensure payments are received by due-dates from the customer.
- Responsibilities also include necessary interaction / co-ordination with various Depts. for samples, regulatory requirements, DMFs and other documentation for new customer & regulatory approvals to meet statutory requirements of the country
- Manage business development activities to add new customers and increase market coverage of existing range of products in untapped regions and new countries
- Identification of markets and customers for new products and products in pipe-line. Assist the regional heads for a successful launch and in ensuring sales of new products once commercialized.
- Provide market research, market intelligence and key information on international market trends and competition to help the division with future export strategies.
Preferred candidate profile
- At least 5 to 10 years of relevant industry experience in API Sales and BD in Europe & APAC regions
- High energy individual with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a hands-on, collaborative fashion with many different disciplines both inside and outside of the company
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the negotiation and closing of partnership agreements
- Strong leadership qualities, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship management skills, strategic thinking, open minded, and innovative thinking
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with incomplete information
- The role would involve travel once the candidate is established in the role and has demonstrated ability to manage projects
- Good negotiation & presentation techniques
- Well-versed sales techniques, consultative selling, customer psychology and purchasing patterns
