We are looking for a Principal Estimator to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office.
What will you be doing?
- Manage the process, prepare and produce Cost Estimates in accordance with company procedure on various activities including Studies, Projects and Management of Change requirements.
- Manage the process and prepare top down, screening estimated and detail Level 3 & 4 estimates consistent with scope definition and in accordance with estimating procedures and guidelines, and the Company Risk Management system.
- Owner of the MoC process and assuring that all Change Request Registers are maintained.
- Ensure that the company's system is updated and maintained with estimate submissions and approvals.
- Liaise with Project Engineering and Discipline Engineers to ensure the necessary take-off information is made available at the right time to prepare the project estimates.
- Provide estimating advice to senior projects personnel when carrying out comparative studies.
- Liaise with other team members, including procurement, planning and contract administration in the pursuit of effective cost control.
- Attend project meetings to answer queries on estimating.
- Assist with the commercial aspect of Project Management.
- Provide feedback from completed projects and assist the input of information into the database on in-house information related to company rates, norms and prices.
We think you should have:
- Highly numerate.
- Ability to analyse technical and contractual documents.
- Ability to analyse estimates.
- Ability to identify risk and opportunities.
- High level of computer literacy.
- +10 years’ experience in North Sea or other Oil & Gas Estimating.
- Good leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate team.
- Ability to communicate well with managers and other team members.
