Senior Staff Nurse– Medical Ward
Location: The Lister Hospital, Chelsea
Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Monday – Sundays (Flexibility to work long days, nights & weekends)
Salary: £42,500-£46,417 (DOE) plus 9% shift allowance
We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Inpatients Medical ward at the Lister Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.
As Senior Staff Nurse, working within our Medical Ward, your main purpose will be to plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care whilst working within a multidisciplinary team, supervising and directing junior staff and also temporary staff. You’ll demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for your own actions, contributing to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedures, and research-based care and other practice development initiatives.
This position is in a 13-bedded Medical Ward which is situated on the fifth floor of the hospital. It specialises in care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including heart failure, dementia, diabetes, renal failure, stroke (not acute), and liver disease. Our aim is to provide individualised, holistic care which may sometimes include end-of-life care. We also admit some non-complex surgical patients when the other surgical departments are unable to accommodate these patients.
The main team is comprised of committed Consultants, Senior and Junior Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants who have experience in this specialty. We work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care delivered and effectively manage complex discharge planning.
What you’ll bring:
- Registered Nurse Level 1
- NMC Registration and PREP requirements
- Extensive experience essential within a medical setting
- ENB course/experience relevant to specialist area desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of relevant NMC/national guidelines, policies and procedures (Code of conduct)
- Basic life support
