About this opportunity
This role sits within the Finance Chief Control Office and presents an exciting opportunity to work within the Control Optimisation team for Operational (Non-Financial) Risk within Group Finance.
We’re on a journey as a Group to reset the way we manage Operational risk. This role will support the Finance Chief Control Management team in driving forward the transformation of the Group’s risk and control agenda, delivering an effective and robust control environment within Group Finance in partnership with Risk and Control Owners and Risk Specialists.
You’ll partner with our Group Finance colleagues, providing expertise to implement our control strategy and ensure management can effectively discharge their accountabilities.
Day to day you’ll be:
- Supporting the implementation of the control optimisation strategy for Operational (Non-Financial) risk in Finance.
- Supporting the review & challenge of the Finance risk profile and control strategy implementation.
- Critically reviewing how the Operational (Non-Financial) risk profile is handled in Finance.
- Planning and delivering on risk and control assessments, mapping of key processes and controls, remediation actions, and providing guidance across the end to end finance processes.
- Providing guidance, review, and challenge to process and control owners in the application of the Risk Management framework for the Finance teams.
What you’ll need:
- Professional qualification in related field (audit, risk management, accounting) with in-depth specialist risk capabilities, professional knowledge, and financial competence.
- Finance risk and control expertise in relation to Operational (Non-Financial) risk categories across accounting processes and systems.
- Operational expertise aligned to management of Operational (Non-Financial) Risk.
- Understanding of how Risk Management framework interlocks with Group Policy requirements in the context of Finance operationally.
- Understanding of control management and the practical implementation across relevant business area.
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives at pace.
