As a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Head of Communications will be responsible for both shaping and executing Whisper Group’s communications strategy.

Role overview:
This is a highly hands-on role, requiring involvement in content creation, posting, and direct management of communication channels, alongside overseeing broader strategic initiatives.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior management position will lead internal and external communication efforts to enhance the brand’s reputation, drive consistent messaging, and position the company as a leading voice in its industry. Additionally, the role will provide strategic guidance to the CEO and the SMT on key communication matters and crisis management .
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Execution:
- Lead the development and implementation of a cohesive communications strategy that aligns with Whisper Group's vision and business objectives
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and other senior leaders on all communication-related matters while also directly engaging in day-to-day content
- creation, posting, and campaign management.
- Strengthen and protect Whisper’s brand reputation, positioning it as a market leader through proactive media engagement and thought leadership initiatives
- Be actively involved in drafting, editing, and publishing content across media channels to ensure consistent brand messaging.
Executive Communications:
- Oversee and directly contribute to the creation of executive-level communications, including CEO statements, thought leadership pieces, and Board-level updates, ensuring they are aligned with company goals and values. Provide hands-on support for the CEO and SMT members in media interviews and high-profile speaking engagements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Lead communication efforts with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, media, and internal teams
- Collaborate with the team and contribute directly to the development of materials, presentations, and communications that engage stakeholders.
Internal Communications:
- Drive internal communication strategies to ensure all employees are aligned with the company’s vision and objectives
- Take an active role in producing internal content, managing newsletters, and leading communications for events like Whisper Day.
Media Relations & Crisis Management:
Serve as the primary spokesperson for Whisper Group, managing all press relations and media inquiries. Lead the creation of media materials, press releases, and crisis communication responses, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to managing reputational risk.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Communications Team to ensure high performance, professional growth, and the delivery of effective communications initiatives. While overseeing the team, remain involved in content creation, copywriting, and hands-on project work as necessary.
- Oversee and actively contribute to Whisper’s digital presence, including its website and social media channels, ensuring they reflect the company’s brand and objectives. Manage content scheduling, digital campaigns, and engagement strategies directly.
Award & Industry Recognition:
- Manage the submission of award entries on behalf of the company, and be actively involved in writing and promoting successful nominations and wins to boost Whisper’s profile within the industry.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior communications leadership role, ideally as part of a Senior Management Team
- Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills, with experience advising CEOs and Board-level executives
- Strong expertise in managing both internal and external communications, with hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and crisis communications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of enhancing brand reputation through both strategic oversight and active involvement
- Demonstrable ability to lead and inspire a team, while staying actively engaged in content development and delivery
- Experience in developing digital communication strategies and managing multiple platforms directly.
