We are looking for an established Podiatrist to join the Community Podiatry Team based in Dorchester, with the need to travel to other locations within West Dorset. Being a driver is essential for this post.
As the Senior Podiatrist you will cover a range of podiatry services. Our work focuses on routine and ulcer care for patients with high-risk feet including those with diabetes, rheumatoid conditions, and other complex health backgrounds. You will have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, along with enthusiasm for improving patient care. The ability to liaise effectively with patients, other podiatry colleagues, and the wider members of the healthcare team such as GPs, district nurses, and MDTs is important to ensure timely delivery of care and treatment.

The Senior Community Podiatry role is a full-time position, but we welcome part-time applications with a minimum of 22.5 hours, which can be discussed further at interview. We aim to consider where people live and keep travelling to a minimum to accommodate a positive work-life balance.

You will work alongside our hospital diabetic foot care services and community podiatry services.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- The assessment, diagnosing, planning, and implementation of high-risk podiatric care, including ulcer management, for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
- Providing education and health promotion.
- Delivering a high-quality person-centred approach to care that always considers people’s safety, privacy, and dignity.
- Providing specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/service users.
- Providing supervision, mentorship, training, and clinical support to students, apprentices, and trained practitioners.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
