Head of Facilities

A position has arisen for a Permanent Head of Facilities within an established organisation situated in Oxfordshire. This role is responsible for all FM operations across multiple buildings.
Your duties will include:
- Managing all hard and soft facilities for the five sites
- Overseeing all aspects of equipment maintenance and repair, including receiving and handling calls and complaints
- Negotiating and managing services contracts
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the Department’s space strategy
- Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and business continuation strategies
- Liaising with external contractors and suppliers including those for construction, building services engineering, cleaning contracts, waste management, security, and relocation companies
The successful candidate should have:
- Educated to degree level in a building service or engineering subject and/or an equivalent professional qualification
- Significant experience of successfully line managing technical managers and supervisors responsible for a wide range of hard and soft services, desirably within lab environments
- Ability to demonstrate significant understanding of the technical infrastructure, including HVAC and BMS
- Experience of setting and managing operational budgets over £1 million
