Position Overview:
As a Senior Marketing Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in identifying growth opportunities within the Indian market and advising on strategies to maximize our business performance . You will act as a key support to local marketing teams and our international leadership, providing insights and guidance to ensure alignment with our overall business objectives. This role demands a highly experienced professional with a proven track record in growth marketing or business development, particularly within the weddings, events, tourism, or luxury sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Growth Strategy: Identify and assess growth opportunities in the local market, leveraging both existing and potential resources to achieve business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee business performance in the Indian market by closely monitoring key objectives and results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Advisory Role: Provide strategic guidance and counsel to the local marketing team and international leaders on growth options and strategies, ensuring alignment with global business goals, and with special focus on growth channels such as Social.
- Regular Reporting: Report directly to the Senior Marketing Director and the VP of International Marketing on progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build relationships with local leaders across other departments to foster cross-functional knowledge and collaboration.
- Team Mentorship: Act as a senior advisor and mentor for the local marketing team, providing weekly supervision, feedback, and support.
- Occasional Visits: Visit the local office and team on occasion, as needed, to build rapport and enhance team collaboration (nice to have, not mandatory).
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing, business development, or growth marketing, preferably in the events, tourism, luxury, or wedding sectors. Strong experience in growth channels such as Social would be a bonus.
- Cultural Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Indian market, with a strong understanding of local culture, consumer behavior, and ideally, the wedding industry.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, assess market opportunities, and develop actionable growth plans.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor and interpret key metrics and data.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Proven experience in mentoring and guiding teams, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Availability: Flexibility to work 2-3 days per week and the ability to commit to a 6-8 month engagement.
