Job Title: Level 3 – Systems Engineer
Description:
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Systems Engineer to join our clients growing team in London. Working within the support team in a fast-paced Managed Services and projects environment, you will be acting as a key point of technical escalation and authority within the team, providing in-depth technical resolution to complex issues across our valued customer base. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology and demonstrate an advanced technical skillset, as well as possessing a strong customer focus and team mentoring skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Providing in-depth technical support and project services to many different clients, delivering high quality solutions with great customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshooting and resolving system and networking problems.
- Configuring and optimising customer servers, systems, applications and policies.
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer IT environments.
- Taking Technical Lead of Major Incident resolution.
- Ownership and Implementation of critical change control scenarios.
- Acting as a key point of technical escalation and authority within the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Have extensive working knowledge of Microsoft’s technology products at Systems Engineer level, including Azure, Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and System Center (ConfigMgr, OpsMgr, DPM, VMM).
- Hold an Expert Level Microsoft 365 certification.
- Strong network technologies experience – Routing, Switching, DNS and Firewalls.
- Possesses ITIL v3 or v4 certification and/or experience of working within this framework.
- Be able to produce and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Have stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical solutions to different audiences.
- Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell and scripting.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
In addition, any of the following would be advantageous:
- Broad knowledge of security infrastructure.
- Familiarity with other Private and Public Cloud solutions – VMware, AWS, etc.
- Be familiar with Storage Area Networks technologies – SAN arrays and fabrics.
- Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco or VMware engineer-level certifications.
- Any technical consultancy experience.
Location/Travel:
Primarily working from our head office in London (South Quay) – however travel may be required to client sites around London.
Hours:
37.5 hours per week + On-Call Cover Allowance (for issues that require L3 escalation only).
