Role Summary
An experienced, strategic, diligent, ambitious, and proactive individual, responsible for managing risk for LME and other exchanges (CME, ICE, SGX), LBMA product set within group risk appetite and defined risk limits. This is a junior level position with the ability to work autonomously, and also as part of a team. The candidate should have a thoughtful approach to their role and the impact it can make, keeping the candidate in mind in all they do.
Skills and Experience
- Proactive mindset in keeping up to date with market research and incorporating it into role efficiently
- Analytical skills, identifying opportunities and risks in a quick and decisive manner
- Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements
- Substantial experience working in and knowledge of a commodities market product area
- Experience of the infrastructural support required to efficiently support commodities business lines
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this
- Experience in operating on electronic market making infrastructure
- Experience in risk managing commodities portfolios
- Knowledge of the underlying products at Marex within the commodities remit

Overall Responsibilities
- Contribute to LME and other exchanges (CME, ICE, SGX), LBMA product trading capability to support liquidity for clients
- Manage Marex Spectron market risk for LME and other exchanges (CME, ICE, SGX), LBMA product set within group risk appetite and defined risk limits whilst generating positive returns
- Work efficiently and support making efficiencies, including but not limited to collaborating with data, research and analytics colleagues to identify opportunities for hedging strategies and clients
- Collaborate with sales/broking functions to originate hedging solutions and structured transactions, with a cross product selling mindset
- Collaborate with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology
- Strategize to increase P&L, requiring ongoing analysis of markets and products in the market
- Ensure compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the FCA.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Act as a role model for demonstrating the highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- Comply with the FCA's Code of Conduct
- Carry out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books
- Liaise with clients in APAC, mainly China; clients include banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutionals, trading houses and other trading boutiques
- Ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
- Report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required
- Escalate risk events immediately
- Provide input to risk management processes, as required
