Job Summary
We are delighted to be assisting a key strategic partner with the recruitment of a new Director of Projects for a leading Engineering Consulting Firm based in Leeds. Our client is renowned for delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions and is committed to innovation and excellence. As they continue to expand their project portfolio, they are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Projects to oversee and drive the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.
Key Roles:
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage the firm’s project portfolio, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for project management, aligning with the firm’s business objectives and growth strategies.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to project management teams, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, managing relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Project Delivery: Manage and oversee all phases of project delivery, including planning, execution, and closing. Ensure projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Develop Project Strategies: Create and implement strategies for project management that align with the firm’s overall business objectives. Establish project goals, deliverables, and milestones.
- Lead and Develop Teams: Build, lead, and mentor project management teams, providing guidance and support to ensure effective project execution and professional development.
- Manage Client Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded. Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise impact. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address any challenges.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in a senior project management role, ideally as Director of Projects or similar, within the engineering consulting sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex engineering projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in leading and developing project management teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and address client needs effectively.
- Solid understanding of risk management and problem-solving, with the ability to identify potential issues and implement effective solutions.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £85,000.00 per year
