If yes, Signature Recruitment is currently seeking an Event and Committee Assistant for our client, a London university. This is a temporary, full-time position offered with a hybrid working structure of two days on campus and three days from home. It has an immediate start for two months but with the possibility to extend into the New Year.
The Event and Committee Assistant will support the Student Experience Team by ensuring the efficient administration of university events and committees. In this diverse role, you will assist in the planning and organisation of university activities and events. In addition, you will effectively and efficiently service committee meetings preparing agendas, paperwork and taking well drafted minutes with meticulous attention to detail.
Event and Committee Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, organisation, and execution of events related to student experience, such as induction, open days, and extracurricular student activities.
- Support event logistics, including venue booking, catering arrangements, organising speakers and coordination with external suppliers.
- Collaborate with the communications team and Students’ Union to promote events as well as conduct post-event follow up and feedback surveys.
- Organise and coordinate meeting schedules and the preparation and distribution of relevant documentation.
- Provide secretariat support for committees, including agendas, taking well drafted minutes, and follow-up action points.
- Any other ad hoc administrative duties in order to support the Student Experience Team including the preparation of reports and communications to students and staff, monitoring shared inboxes and responding to queries, signposting when necessary.
Event and Committee Assistant Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in committee administration and event planning.
- Personable and proactive self-starter, with good organisation and time management with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
