Overview of role
As the Head of Earned, Shared, Owned (ESO) Media, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute integrated communication strategies that meet client objectives and generate profitable fee income for the agency. This role involves leading the strategy and execution of integrated campaigns for a diverse range of clients.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Teams to ensure best use of earned, shared and owned media channels as part of seamlessly integrated campaigns, or as a stand-alone element when appropriate.
General responsibilities
- Develop and implement PR, earned, owned, and shared media strategies that align with clients' objectives and brand values.
- Manage and oversee the delivery of high-quality content, media relations, influencer marketing, social media, and digital marketing activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, bloggers, influencers, and industry experts.
- Monitor and measure the performance and impact of media campaigns using data and analytics to optimize results and report on ROI.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of media specialists, ensuring they have the skills, resources, and support to deliver excellent work.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in media, and advise clients and the agency on how to leverage them.
- Develop comprehensive communication strategies that align with brand objectives, target audience insights, and overall campaign goals.
- Craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the brand.
- Identify and prioritize the most effective use of media channels for reaching and engaging target audiences.
- Develop a robust content strategy to create engaging and impactful content across various channels.
- Oversee the planning and execution of PR and social media campaigns.
- Inspire, mentor, and guide the communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication campaigns and identify areas for optimization.
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing strategic counsel and ensuring their satisfaction with communication efforts.
Skills and experience
- Over 10 years of experience in communications and marketing, with a proven track record of leading successful integrated campaigns.
- A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- A deep understanding of the digital media landscape and emerging trends, including the application of AI tools.
- Strong media relations, influencer marketing, and social media skills.
- Exceptional leadership, management, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies that drive results, particularly in earned media and owned channels.
- Welsh speaker desirable.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics tools to measure and report on media outcomes.
- Creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for media.
