Position Overview:
The Area Manager / Deputy for Operations is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of horizontal site construction projects, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and effectively. The role includes a strong focus on equipment maintenance and management, ensuring that all machinery and tools are in optimal working condition. The Area Manager / Deputy for Operations will report directly to the CEO, providing regular updates on project progress and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of all ongoing horizontal construction projects.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to the CEO.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that all construction equipment is properly maintained and serviced regularly.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and procurement of new machinery.
- Operational Oversight:
- Supervise and manage on-site personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-related issues, liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the CEO to align operational activities with strategic objectives.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for operational improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to horizontal construction and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in site construction management, with a focus on horizontal projects.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment maintenance and management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
