POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Analyst within Performance & Analysis services customers in the areas of performance, quantitative analysis and statistical functions and/or works on growth and transformative projects in those same areas moving the business forward. This role focuses on client service and service delivery, as well as support designed to improve the quality of processes, information and services for our customers. This individual provides analysis of moderate to complex calculations, data structures, reporting and applications. This role leads and/or collaborates on system enhancements, automations and transformation projects providing a high level of technical expertise and/or deep business knowledge. A successful candidate will be highly self-directed, strong in virtual teaming, collaborative and dedicated to mentoring and cross-educating others within the team.
Principal Responsibilities
- Operational Support (Runs the business): Responsible for the production, reporting and/or secondary review of complex performance and attribution data including calculations of performance returns, benchmark data, and statistics, and end-to-end process of fixed-income attribution reconciliation and interpretation of results, to the highest level of accuracy within predefined deadlines. Serves as an escalation point for any issues or questions that arise from a systems or business process perspective. Responsible for managing relationships with affected parties on progress or issues to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
- Subject matter Expertise (Grow the business): Serves as a subject matter expert on performance, attribution, benchmark and statistical data, acting as a resource to immediate team and the firm as a whole. Proactively follows industry trends and engages with business partners to anticipate new data requirements. Understands and works to eliminate source data gaps, and efficiently designs and implements new performance, attribution, benchmark, and statistical calculations in line with established best practices.
- Project Management (Transform the business): Responsible for analyzing and defining business issues, opportunities, and enhancements and implementing solutions to improve reporting processes and technology surrounding our fixed income attribution platform. Incumbent performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project/enhancement feasibility and makes recommendation to Managers and business partners based on findings. Independently leads moderate to complex projects including oversight and execution of development, testing, implementation, post-implementation support, and adoption within the organization.
- Leadership: Responsible for using sound business judgment, technical knowledge, and project management experience in order to navigate institutional business lines, exercising influence and persuasion where appropriate.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Finance, Accounting or Engineering
- 5 or more years of demonstrated technical or industry knowledge
- CIPM or CFA certification, or Graduate Degree in Business or Finance
- Knowledge in SQL
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in performance and attributions systems like Factset PA, Bloomberg PORT
- Deep understanding of the various fixed-income attribution models
- Understanding of the various sources of return within each fixed income strategy
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; position requires interaction with all levels of internal staff and external customers
- Self-motivated and self-reliant. Must work well independently and take initiative with assigned projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Prior experience leading business/technology projects
- Understanding of business software/systems analysis techniques
