Consultant Psychiatrist for Adult ADHD/Autism
Since 2006, Harley Therapy has connected individuals to the highest calibre practitioners in private practice, working to improve their mental health and lead more fulfilling lives. We are committed to raising the standard of psychological support in the private sector, and we align ourselves with the most selective group of therapists and psychiatrists.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Adult ADHD and Autism Consultant Psychiatrist (GMC registered) to collaborate with our esteemed team in Harley Street. This opportunity arises following the unexpected passing of our highly regarded colleague, Dr Stephen Humphries.
We are looking for a self-employed clinician who can provide initial assessments in our Harley Street rooms at least one day a week, and conduct follow-up appointments in-person and/or online. The role also involves taking over some of Dr Humphries' existing cases.
Given the high demand for our services, there is potential for additional hours. We are particularly interested in candidates who also work within the NHS, as we value the experience and insight gained from working in a public healthcare setting. While there is room for more hours if desired, we are committed to helping our practitioners maintain a healthy work-life balance, offering flexibility in the time you choose to dedicate to Harley Therapy.
Our ideal candidate will have a specialised interest in ADHD, with a strong understanding of the importance of tailoring medication to meet individual needs, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. You will also have access to a team of skilled therapists who can work alongside you to provide comprehensive therapeutic support to your patients. We also have a partnership with a central London pharmacy, which collects scripts for controlled drugs and provides an app for non-controlled drugs, ensuring seamless and safe service through constant communication with clinicians and our medical admin team.
Remuneration
You can expect to earn a minimum of £1,200 per 90-minute ADHD assessment, with higher rates for combined ADHD/autism assessments. All consultations are prepaid by clients, and if you choose to work with health insurers, our dedicated claims team will manage all the paperwork on your behalf.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current GMC registration, adhering to all guidelines and codes, with appropriate insurance coverage.
- A minimum of 8 years of clinical experience, with a preference for those with significantly more.
- Active employment within the NHS, or at least holding an honorary position.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work within the Harley Therapy team, where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with ADHD and autism.
