A Law Firm in London is looking for an experienced Graduate Recruitment and Business Services Recruiter to manage the full spectrum of the Trainee Recruitment and Training Contract programmes and all Business Services recruitment, working in close collaboration with the Senior Recruitment Manager and HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Graduate Recruitment
- Manage and administer all aspects of the Trainee Recruitment and Training Contract programmes from on-boarding to qualification, including but not limited to:
- Advise on the trainee recruitment marketing strategy, managing marketing literature and maintaining the careers website.
- Identifying target universities and attending Law Fairs.
- Monitor the London Trainee Recruitment mailbox and respond to queries/applications as appropriate.
- Manage the RARE recruitment system.
- Manage the Summer Vacation scheme (including organising external training and planning social events).
- Arrange and participate in trainee interviews for vacation scheme and training contract candidates.
- Track all trainee recruitment activity (vacation scheme, training contracts, etc.).
- Track and process all recruitment related expenditure such as external advertising, candidate travel expenses and law fair costs.
- Arrange future trainee bi-annual maintenance payments.
- Plan and organise bi-annual trainee dinners.
- Preparation and submission of formal Training Contracts.
- Managing trainee registration with the SRA.
- Organise trainee and NQ inductions.
- Attend the annual Global Orientation in New York.
- Work with the Trainee Partners on managing the six-month trainee seat rotations.
- Assist with end of seat appraisals if required.
- Manage the SRA/Law Society registration of trainees completing training contracts.
Business Services Recruitment
- Ensure recruitment licences are approved with the New York office.
- Ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective recruitment methods are adopted, including the use of direct hiring (through social media, etc.).
- Reviewing candidate details, shortlisting, and discussing with management to make selection for interview.
- Attending all interviews, preparing interview notes, and assisting with final selection.
- Tracking and processing all recruitment related expenditure, e.g., external advertising and recruitment fees.
- Prepare offers to successful candidates and complete necessary pre-employment conflicts and background screening checks as part of the clearance process.
- Establish and manage strong relationships with key recruitment agencies for Business Services recruitment and ensure appropriate Ts and Cs are negotiated and in place.
- Ensuring a closely monitored approach to managing CVs and candidates through the recruitment portal.
Other
- Ensuring compliance with migrant worker responsibilities; manage global mobility and immigration requests with support from the HR Generalist team, including but not limited to: right to work checks, visa applications and management of the relocation policy and expenses.
- To establish an internal framework for the recruitment of Apprentices (where appropriate) and schedule work experience programmes.
- Project work as required e.g. salary benchmarking, identifying market trends.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Snr Recruitment Manager during periods of absence.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working at Advisor level with graduate recruitment and recruitment experience within a US or global law firm.
- A recognised CIPD qualification (or working towards this).
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the legal industry as it relates to recruitment and a strong commercial awareness / interest to keep up to date on market trends.
- Some travel (mostly within the UK) will be required.
Salary circa £65,000.
