About the role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will take a leading role developing and building the infrastructure that will underpin the future of the financial ecosystem. We are looking for a highly-motivated, resilient problem-solver. Someone who seeks out challenges and is ready to implement compelling solutions to complex problems. Your role will consist of knowledge sharing across the entire engineering team, mentoring and coaching individuals as well.

Our products have garnered the trust of leading companies and enabled them to deliver powerful experiences when connected with a user’s bank account, allowing users to perform prudent financial planning, get better rates on loans, transfer money to friends, and more, without compromising on privacy or security.
Some of Lean’s clients include the likes of Ciclys, Tabby, Tamara, Salla, Tawuniya, and many more, making it the region’s most valuable Open Banking platform. The company has now processed hundreds of millions of dollars, and its products are also connected with hundreds of thousands of accounts. Lean envisions a fully inclusive financial ecosystem that serves everyone, no matter where they bank or live in the MENAP region.
Requirements
- Must have hands-on experience on Open Banking (if applying for our London position).
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Scripting, REST.
- Must have Lead Technical Teams experience.
- Must have an understanding of how to design and develop complex features.
- Experience working on open source standards and APIs.
- Experience on CI/CD and DevOps systems and processes.
Soft Skills
- To be self-motivated and comfortable with autonomy, with a desire to take complete ownership of the product from inception to deployment.
- Experience working in startup environments.
