ABOUT THIS POSITION
Join a knowledgeable team of dedicated game developers in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As the Lead Software Engineer, Web , you will spearhead the creation of innovative and engaging web products. Your role will involve leading and mentoring a team of skilled programmers while managing three websites and overseeing all user interactions. This position is ideal for a passionate leader with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional web experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the technical architecture and delivery of all of our web products, including contribution of code and reviewing the code of others
- Implement features as needed to support initiatives on the website
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of talented web programmers into a central web services team that can support multiple games as a service
- Maintenance and improvement of the existing systems and tools
- Collaborate and support initiatives from product managers and designers on the team
- Collaborate with other departments in the company to enhance and improve player experience on the site
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ managing web teams
- Full-Stack Software Engineer with expertise and passion for the Laravel ecosystem and related libraries, tools, and best practices. Familiar with patterns related to running enterprise-volume sites such as CDNs, caching, queues, and localization. Experience writing middleware, coding against 3rd party APIs, and troubleshooting/debugging.
- Experience with web projects that complement or extend Software as a Service or Games as a Service products - e-commerce, community, publishing, etc.
- Familiarity with source control tools and management (Git, Perforce)
- Fluency in one or more web programming languages (PHP, JavaScript, Python)
- Previous experience with working with servers and databases and containerization (Docker)
- Previous experience with build pipelines and tooling (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.)
