Due to continued growth, McBains are looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator who is keen to further develop their career and assist with the management and development of our growing architecture team in London.
Main Purpose of the Job
Provide BIM and Revit support to the Architecture team within McBains London Office, reporting to the Project Director (Strategic BIM Lead) and Architecture Project Director.
Core role includes (but not limited to):
- Provide technical support for BIM enabling software applications to the Architecture team
- BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows and project set-up
- Helping to technically deliver BIM projects in the role of BIM Coordination e.g. Project Modelling and Documentation
- Review of clash reports with project teams and the client/general contractor and lead this process with the Strategic BIM/Digital Lead where required
- Support Strategic BIM/Digital Lead on regular BIM model audits and health check reporting
- Liaise with Strategic BIM/Digital Lead effectively to ensure changes in procedure and standards are communicated well to project teams
- Support in managing and maintaining project content and source additional BIM content for project teams using our cloud based content management solution
- Support Strategic BIM/Digital Lead in delivering training and mentoring on ‘Best Practice’ workflows to project teams as required
- To contribute or otherwise assist as required e.g., BIM Steering Groups and SBU BIM Meetings
Key Responsibilities
- Create system for team requests for new Architectural BIM content i.e. templates, families, filters
- Source or build BIM/REVIT content as requested
- Implement a system for managing and monitoring team REVIT/BIM queries
- Deliver regular BIM & training updates to project teams
- Contribute to Project Model set-up and federation across the Architectural team, supporting the Strategic BIM/Digital Lead
Skills & Requirements
- Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities
- Experience of working in an Architectural and/or Multi-Disciplinary practice
- Experience of working in an Architectural project coordination role
- In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Revit 2022 and above, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of using Revit on design/construction projects across all RIBA Stages
- In-depth knowledge of BIM Coordination and Federation processes (Autodesk Navisworks and BIMcollab), with experience of running clash detection and generating reports
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent diligence and care of detail
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks
- Able to be personable and build relationships
- Knowledge and understanding of BIM Information Management standards – ISO 19650-1 and ISO19650-2 (2018 and 2021 National Annex)
- Knowledge of Ideate Software, DiRoots, Enscape3D, TwinMotion, Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD, BIM Interoperability Tools for Asset Data
- Previous experience with BIM projects on site
