We stream medical patients directly into our SDEC from Primary Care, ambulance providers, and the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will provide support, advice, and guidance to the Medical SDEC team alongside their Acute Medical Unit duties.
Working hours: 10PAs divided into 8.5 PA DCC and 1.5 SPA. 1 additional PA will be provided for on-call and supplement. Additional roles can be negotiated in addition to basic PAs.
Main duties of the job
- Be dedicated to hands-on involvement with medical admissions to the Acute Medicine Unit focusing on timely assessment, management, and discharge.
- Supervise junior doctors, ANPs & nurse consultants seeing patients in our medical SDEC & on AMU.
- Supervise & coordinate junior doctors on AMU.
- Teach & train undergraduate medical students & junior doctors.
- Provide leadership & work as part of our team.
- Be part of the on-call team.
Person specification
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (with a licence to practice).
- Current MRCP(UK) qualification, or equivalent.
- Certificate of Completion in Specialist Training (CCT) or within 6 months of completion of training at the time of interview.
- Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), or European Community Rights.
- Substantial (5 years+) Acute internal Medical experience.
- Specialty Certificate Examinations in Acute Internal Medicine.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
