We are on the lookout for an experienced Lighting artist for a freelance contract to join our Games team.
As a Lighter, you will work with the Lighting team to help develop the overall lighting, mood, and atmosphere for all production work, contributing to the final finish.
Tasks will include lighting set up, working with existing shaders, and additional lighting through composition for environments, hard surface and organic assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Lighting team with a variety of high qualitylighting and shading tasks.
- Follow production process and develop creative approaches and problem-solving.
- Help break down shots into passes for various elements (reflection, refraction, global illumination etc).
- Thorough understanding of lighting passes and how each channel contributes to the final image.
- Assist in editing existing or creating basic shaders for various materials for photoreal characters.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & QUALITIES
- A strong portfolio that shows multiple examples of quality lighting. Please note these examples must include clips that incorporate full CG elements.
- Expert knowledge of lighting
- Background in creating shaders, look dev for highly realistic characters.
- Good eye for the final image, ability to create mood and atmosphere.
- Be motivated, self-disciplined.
- Perform well under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritising different tasks to achieve the project goals.
