Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale Talking Therapies is a mental health and wellbeing service that offers therapy groups, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, clinical psychology, and pre-therapy support for clients that may have complex social issues. The service is funded by the Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG). The office for Thinking Ahead is based at the Lock 50 Business Centre in Rochdale, with the Big Life head office based in Hulme, Manchester.
What you’ll be doing
As an IAPT counsellor, you will engage with the residents and professionals of Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale (HMR) to help raise awareness of our wellbeing service and how we can meet the needs of the local community. You will play a key role in engaging with the local population and helping more people to access the support they need, when they need it.
You will be a part of pioneering our Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Talking Therapies service, which includes a team of trainee and qualified psychological wellbeing practitioners and counsellors who deliver a range of NICE approved interventions for depression and anxiety disorders.
What we need from you
- You will hold a recognised counselling qualification and will be accredited or working towards accreditation.
- You will work alongside our team to support the delivery of a high-quality service.
- You will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload.
- You will be able to work well as part of a team as well as work individually.
- You will have the ability to work to deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities.
- You will have knowledge of barriers and issues facing our client group.
- You will have a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude.
What we will offer you in return
- An annual salary of £35,964 (NHS Band 5 + 4 years equivalent)
- A permanent 37.5 hours per week contract (Hybrid working)
- Based at Lock 50 Business Centre, Oldham Road, Rochdale, OL16 5RD.
- 25 days holiday, and 30 once you’ve been here five years.
