Manufacturing Futures is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager for our client who is a market leader in their respected field. There is no new business activity or cold calling; this role is managing existing key accounts who already deal with the company and aims to increase their Y-o-Y spend. You need to have experience in 'in the room' face-to-face sales and be a great negotiator when finalizing commercial proposals. The product is simple, and there’s no requirement for you to have previous knowledge of the product range; whatever you have sold will translate over.
You will be working closely with internal sales and other back office functions such as Technical, Quotes, Marketing, and Finance to deliver support to key customers and develop sales further within your customer base. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about sales and business development, with a proven track record of managing large accounts to grow their spend, but is more focused on service than price. This role requires you to focus on what you can offer (a great service, better than the competition) to protect margin. Key Account Manager – Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all commercial elements of the owned accounts through business analysis and business planning.
- Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts, quotes, and any further documentation, with the support of Operations, Legal, and Finance teams, following internal procedures.
- Collaborate with assigned internal outbound sales agents that are assigned to your key accounts to ensure efficiency and support to the assigned account base.
- Collaborate with the technical and quotes team to enable design wins and where needed quote, negotiate to secure orders.
- Deliver quarter by quarter sales & margin growth in line with agreed targets for the assigned group of circa 60 key accounts.
- Identify and convert a pipeline of new business opportunities in line with expected timescales and growth targets.
- Identify key competitor account opportunities and formulate plans to deliver and convert significant wins, ensuring maximum profitability from the right product and services mix.
Key Account Manager – Skills and Abilities
- Skilled negotiator of significant agreements with strong commercial acumen and numeracy.
- Analytical experience and ability to interpret financial and sales data and results.
- Ability to collaborate and connect with others in a multi-channel multi-cultural environment.
- Clean driving license.
- Previous experience with Key Account Management.
- Understanding of P&L, profitable sales, margin implications of particular sales, and discounting policies.
