Madisons Recruitment are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis for a reputable client located in London, Greater London.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor would be required to successfully manage all costs relating to dedicated projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. This person will seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money while still achieving our impeccable standards and quality.
Previous experience in projects from the pre-construction and bid stage, responsible for all commercial activity through to project completion is necessary. You will be able to take the commercial lead on a variety of projects, with a proven track record on profitable projects as well as being commercially aware. A CSCS card and SSSTS would be an advantage but are not essential. Experience in different forms of contract would be advantageous.
Other responsibilities include:
- Prepare tender documents from professional drawings.
- Obtain tenders from prepared documents.
- Check competence of tenders received.
- Prepare documentation for sub-contract instructions.
- Cost analysis on pre-purchased sites.
- Value engineering on purchased sites.
- Prepare Cost Plan / Budget.
- Identify proposed overspend.
- Check / measure sub-contractors valuations.
- Advise on cost-effective construction.
- Attend professional / site progress meetings and comment accordingly.
- Challenge / approve proposed variations.
- Loss and expense claims – sub-contract and professional.
- Liaise with Purchasing Manager.
- Up to date analysis on ongoing contracts and sub-contractors.
- Quantify materials.
